Over Memorial Holiday week, Ireland Lily Briody is looking forward to coming home to visit her childhood home and seeing friends and family she has missed since her parents relocated to Los Angeles in 2021. The Briody name had been a staple in the Dearborn Arts scene for decades, with 12yr old Ireland following in the legacy of creatives who have called Dearborn, Michigan home.

Since turning 6 yrs. old Ireland had booked local Michigan commercials and print ads and grew up in front of the camera. Her first spot was an ad for DMC, then Chrysler and Delta soon followed. During the height of the pandemic, her parents Tim and Aleka Briody took a leap of faith and went “all in” on their daughters Hollywood dream.

Since landing in L.A., the tween actor has been featured in shows like Abbott Elementary, Jimmy Kimmel, and a Star Wars Kids web series. Next followed a lead role in a Lifetime movie, and the award winning short “New Beginnings.” When she is not shooting commercials for Mattel and Justice, she is thriving at her gifted performing arts magnet school, and loves to swim and hike.

Throughout all the success in California, the family has never lost their connection to Metro Detroit, and the state of Michigan. While this is their first time back to visit Michigan since the move, the “West Coast Briodys” have never forgotten their roots in Dearborn. Ireland and her parents never miss a chance to attend a Tiger, Lion, or Wolverine game when they are on the road.

This next week the plan is to hit all her favorite spots, over the 5-day tour. Millers’ burgers, Buddy’s pizza, Greenfield Village frozen custard, and Westborn Market are all on the menu. Ireland wants to see her childhood home in West Dearborn, before trekking to Downtown Detroit to witness all the growth and amazing changes since leaving.

Just like the adage: “You can take the girl out of Dearborn but can’t take the Dearborn out of the girl!”
